SUSTAINABILITY
Did you know that condoms grow from trees? Naturally, rubber grows around the equator in South Asia from Hevea brasiliensis, aka rubber trees. When sourcing raw materials, our goal is to use natural materials with the smallest possible footprint on the planet. That is why we choose to work with farmers who foster regenerative agriculture, and support biodiversity and fair working conditions as opposed to deforestation and monocultures.
ENVIRONMENTAL
Esme condoms are made from holistically produced rubber grown from agro-forestry, which means the rubber trees are grown in a biodiverse botanical environment that supports reforestation. Agro-forestry is important for sustainable rubber production as it takes into account rural livelihoods, food security, biodiversity, and the climate. These factors are essential given the challenges facing rubber production. Through agroforestry, fewer chemical pesticides and herbicides are also used, which improves the health of people, the environment, and animals.
INTIMATE
The condoms are made from natural latex, the lubricant has a clean scented silicone base. Hypoallergenic and gentle to protect your intimate health. Esme condoms are gynecologically approved and certified to comply with national and international quality standards.
SOCIAL
Esme’s perception of social sustainability is to prioritize sexual health and the development of products that inspire people to make better and healthier choices. Esme is dedicated to a business ethos that meets international standards, policies, and regulations. Esme works with farms set up to meet the community's needs. The farmers work independently, with a fair pricing system to provide social advantages for smallholder farmers and rubber tappers. Throughout the supply chain, working conditions are ensured to favor the health of farmers and workers in the manufacturing plants. This way, you can feel reassured that Esme’s products are responsibly sourced to protect and support human rights and social accountability.
